Everyday protection for your paint
Small, consistent habits help keep the finish easier to maintain.
Choose a gentle washing routine
Rinse loose dirt before making contact with the paint. Use a clean mitt, a suitable shampoo and separate tools for wheels. Work on cool panels and avoid letting shampoo dry in direct sunlight.
Deal with contamination promptly
Bird deposits, insect residue and road contamination can become harder to remove when left in place. Soften deposits with a suitable product and remove them gently instead of scrubbing dry paint.
Match the protection to the routine
Wax, sealant and ceramic coatings involve different preparation and maintenance. Choose a product based on the surface, the conditions and how the car will be cared for afterwards.
Inspect between washes
Look at how water behaves and check for roughness, residue or signs of wear. Protection needs maintenance; a glossy appearance alone does not reveal the condition of the paint beneath.
These notes introduce general care principles. Follow the vehicle handbook and the instructions for the actual products and equipment you use.
